Skip Williamson was the main instigator behind the 'Playboy Funnies' (September 1977 - December 1984), a comic section in Hugh Hefner's Playboy. The adult paper magazine featured hip, young artists like Lynch and himself, Art Spiegelman, Jay Kinney, Randall Enos, Lou Brooks, Mark Alan Stamaty and Howard Cruse. For many former underground comix artists it was a welcome spot in a widely read magazine where they could still publish explicit, subversive stories that couldn't be published elsewhere. Skip Williamson naturally also had his own features in this section. The first, 'Neon Vincent's Massage Parlor', featured a man who claimed to run a massage parlor, but in reality it was obviously a brothel. It debuted in September 1977 and ran on irregular intervals until February 1984. His second feature, 'Nu-Wave Romance with Nell 'n' Void', debuted in November 1980 and revolved around a woman, Nell 'n' Void and her sex life.
